Richard Lee "Dick" Piepenbring, 89, passed away January 23, 2013.
Mr. Piepenbring was born February 1, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Frank Otto and Sylvia Bernard Piepenbring. He was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church for forty-two years, where he was a deacon.
Mr. Piepenbring served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WW II. Afterward, he graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in forestry. He worked for International Paper Company for more than thirty years, where he retired as Regional Manager. Before moving to Georgetown, he was active in many civic organizations and in leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Piepenbring was predeceased by his wife Jo Ann Piepenbring, his sister, Jean P. Mussche, his brother, Frank Piepenbring, and grandson, Lee Piepenbring. He is survived by his four children: Marty P. Trifiletti (Joe); Russell J. Piepenbring (Mary); Richard O. Piepenbring (Sabrina); and Michael E. Piepenbring, D. M. D. (Lee); grandchildren: Lou Hutto (Elizabeth); Daniel Hutto; Elizabeth T. Johnson (Jed); Jana P. Kimball (Justin); Ben Piepenbring; Betsy P. Pittinger (Jeremy); Ashley D. Hymel (Chris); Ryan Davis; Will and Matt Piepenbring. His great grandchildren: Stella Hutto; Miller Johnson; Oliver Kimball; Jacob Pittinger; Hallie and Holden Hymel.
Visitation will be at Mayer Funeral Home in Georgetown from 5 until 7 o'clock on Friday, January 25, 2013. Graveside services will be held at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens at 2 o'clock on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
