Andrews;
Robert Preston Brantley, 72, went to be with the Lord Monday evening, November 30, 2015, after a brief four day illness at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital. He was a resident of Prince George Health Care for three years.
Mr. Brantley was born in the Earl community of Andrews on July 14, 1943, a son of the late Lorace Jim Brantley and Pearl Ward Brantley. He was a member of the Earl/Trio United Methodist Church. Mr. Brantley was a retired self-employed carpenter, retired deer processor for the community, avid huntsman in his younger years, and an excellent bar-b-quer and cook.
In addition to his parents Mr. Brantley was predeceased by: his wife, Gladys LaRue Parrott Brantley; two sons, Robert Preston Brantley, Jr. and Rodney Preston Brantley; a brother, Lorace Jim Brantley, Jr.; and a sister, Karen Denise Brantley Bouchette.
He leaves behind a brother, Dale Alvin Brantley (Laura), two sisters, Betty Brantley Ray and Jimmie Faye Clemons (Jimmy) all of Andrews, eight nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be twelve o'clock noon, Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from eleven until twelve o'clock at the chapel.
