Georgetown:
Robert Vincent Hendriks, 93, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Hendriks was born in Camden, Ark. on Nov. 18, 1913, a so of the late William Joseph Hendriks and Eugie Vivian Snyder Hendriks. He grew up in Arkansas and attended Fordham University. Mr. Hendriks moved to Georgetown in 1938, where he was employed by International Paper Company. He retired in 1978 as Paper Mill Superintendent. Mr. Hendriks was a member of St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Pine Tree Club at the paper mill. Mr. Hendriks was currently living with a son in Mt. Pleasant.
Preceding Mr. Hendriks in death include: his wife, Jessie Ward Hendriks; and a son, Henry H. Hendriks.
Surviving are: four sons, Robert V. Hendriks, Jr. of Durham, N. C., William J. Hendriks and J. Michael Hendriks, both of Georgetown, and David A. Hendriks of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter Martha H. Johnson of Wasco, Calif.; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be eleven o'clock, Monday morning, May 28, 2007, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
