Pawley's Island:
Robert "Bob" Edward Holland, Sr., died Sunday, June 27, 2004, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet.
Mr. Holland was born in Toccoa, Ga. on April 11, 1939, a son of the late Edward Ralph Holland and Mildred Horton Holland. He was a graduate of Central High School and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, N. C. and served in the Air Force. Mr. Holland was a resident of Charlotte prior to moving to Pawley's Island. He was a former employee of Myrtle Beach National Company and retired in 2004 from the Breakers Resort. Mr. Holland was a member of the First Baptist Church of Surfside.
Surviving are: his wife, Carolynn M. Holland of Pawley's Island; a daughter, Tamara H. Duguid and her husband Pete of Libertyville, Ill.; a son, Robert Edward Holland, Jr. and his wife Beth of Danville, Calif.; two step-sons, Kyle B. Mathis and his wife Charlotte of Boiling Springs and Dr. Kerrick A. Mathis of Jacksonville, N. C.; a sister, Ann H. Trammell of Charlotte, N. C.; four grandchildren, Jake A. Duguid and John H. Duguid, both of Libertyville, Ill. and Griffin B. Mathis and Joshua A. Mathis, both of Boiling Springs; uncles and aunts, Todd and Lib Horton of Bermuda Run, N. C. and Paul and Jane Horton of Leesville; a great-aunt, Inez Bell Caskey of Columbia; a niece, Katharine T. Dotterer of Charlotte, N. C.; and a nephew, Edward R. Trammell of Charlotte, N. C.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, June 30, 2004, at the graveside in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, N. C. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Jack Knoespel and the Rev. Laurie Hale.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, June 29, 2004, at the residence, 73 Bradford Court, Litchfield County Club from five until seven.
