Georgetown, SC: Robert James Shank, 91, widower of Alma Shank, went to his Savior, Sunday, December 25, 2016, at his son's residence in Georgetown. Mr. Shank was born in Johnston, PA on November 11, 1925, the son of the late Clifford and Stella Shank. He resided in Somerset PA for sixty years. Mr. and Mrs. Shank were married for sixty-nine years He enlisted in the Coast Guard at age seventeen and served in the North Atlantic during World War II. Mr. Shank was owner and operator of Shank's Sunoco Service Station for a number of years. Surviving are: a daughter–in-law, Debra Lou Thompson Shank of Georgetown; a granddaughter, Andrea Megan Reed (Jason) of Morrison, CO; a grandson, Andrew Jay Shank of Charleston, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Michael Reed of Denver, CO. In addition to his wife, Mr. Shank is predeceased by: a son, Robert "Bob" Jay Shank, a daughter, Bonnie Shank. Interment will be private in Weller Cemetery, Somerset, PA.
