Pawleys Island: Robert Thomas McKenna, 88, died Friday, March 23, 2018, at his residence. Mr. McKenna was born October 25, 1929 in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Gerald Thomas McKenna and Marie L. Schultz McKenna. He grew up in Northville, MI and served in the U. S. Army at Fort Meade, MD. Mr. McKenna worked as an electrical engineer with NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD for a number of years. After retirement, he moved to Pawleys Island. Surviving are: his wife, Joyce McKenna of Pawleys Island; two sons, Robert T. McKenna, Jr. (Melissa) of Williamsburg, VA and John McKenna (Shannon) of Gaithersburg, MD; a daughter, Lynn McKenna of Gaithersburg, MD.; and four grandchildren, Jamie McKenna Jenkins (Jeff) of Clarksburg, MD, Erin McKenna Streyle (Chris) of Timonium, MD; and Meghan McKenna and Matthew McKenna, both of Gaithersburg, MD. Funeral services will be ten o'clock Thursday morning, March 29, 2018, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be The Rev. Richard C. Wilson.
