Pawley's Island:
Robert Ware Sistrunk, Jr., 81, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital in Georgetown.
Mr. Sistrunk was born in Decatur, Ga. on February 27, 1924, son of the late Robert Ware Sistrunk and Ruth Elizabeth Bates Sistrunk. He grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur Boys High School and Clemson University. Mr. Sistrunk served in the Navy during World War II. After retiring from the textile industry, he moved to Pawley's Island from Burlington, N. C. in 1978. Mr. Sistrunk was a communicant of All Saints Church, Waccamaw and was a Mason. He was the widower of Billie Claire Rouse Sistrunk.
Surviving are: two daughters, Jane S. Taylor and her husband Sam of Murphy, N. C. and Ruth S. McLellan of Pawley's Island; and a grandson, Robert Clayton Taylor of Murphy, N. C.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Saturday morning, July 2, 2005, in Old All Saints Church, Waccamaw. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy D. Surratt. Burial will follow in All Saint Church, Waccamaw, Churchyard.
