Georgetown: Rosa Parker Vereen, 31, died Monday, March 20, 2017, in West Columbia. Ms. Vereen was born October 28, 1985 in Marion, a daughter of Angela Winesett Watkins and Ralph Edgar 'Bubby" Vereen. Rosa was a loving mother to Nate "Noonie", daughter and friend. Everyone that met her appreciated her keen sense of humor. She could always put a smile on your face. Rosa Parker Vereen loved a parade and was loved by all. Her charm and beauty were one of a kind. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. We lost a precious life but God gained an angel. Ms. Vereen was predeceased by; maternal grandfather, Garrett Winesett and paternal grandparents, Happy Vereen and Mary Margaret McLaughlin Vereen. Surviving, in addition to her mother of Georgetown and father of North Myrtle Beach, are; a son, Nate Shelley of Murrells Inlet; step-father, Bucky Watkins of Georgetown; sister, Lauren Bailey Vereen of Charleston; maternal grandmother, Pat McKown of Surfside Beach; Nate's father, Adam Shelley of Murrells Inlet; and Adam's mother, Wanda Shelley Baker of Murrells Inlet. Memorial services will be private. The family will receive friends at a reception Sunday, March 26, 2017, starting at 3 pm at the Big Tuna, 807 Front Street in Georgetown.
