Georgetown: Ruth Alford Hansen, 88, died Friday, February 20, 2015, at Myrtle Beach Estates, 3620 Happy Woods Court in Myrtle Beach, under the care of Beacon Hospice. Mrs. Hansen was born in Georgetown County on October 11, 1926, a daughter of William Capers Alford, Sr. and Lillie Idell Finklea Alford. She graduated from Georgetown County schools and married Ralph John Hansen, Sr. on January 20, 1945. Mrs. Hansen was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband of Georgetown, surviving are: a son, Ralph John Hansen, Jr. (Linda) of Richmond Hill, Ga.; a daughter, Teresa Powell (TD) of Santee; five grandchildren, Roslyn H. Woehrman (Scott) and Ralph John Hansen, III, both of Bremerton, Wash., Christina L. Powell of Phoenix, Ariz., Christine C. Hansen of Richmond Hill, Ga.; and Angela P. Ball (Mel) of Santee; two great-granddaughters; a brother, William Cole Alford (Authurleen) of Georgetown; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by: her sister, Myrtle Alford McConnell; and six brothers, Thomas Adey Alford, Clyde Albert Alford, Daniel Benjamin Alford, Washington Capers Alford, Capers W. Alford, and George Hugene Alford. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock on Monday morning, February 23, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Vickie Powell. Burial will follow at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the Church social hall from ten until eleven o'clock.
