Pawleys Island:
Sadie Gamble Clemons, 88, widow of F. Ervin Clemons, died Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mrs. Clemons was born in Andrews on October 8, 1922, a daughter of the late William Belser Gamble and Annie Moyd Gamble. She grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. Mrs. Clemons attended Coker College. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Andrews and United Methodist Women. Mrs. Clemons was a member of Rosemary Garden Club and an accomplished bridge player.
Surviving are: a son, Frank E. Clemons (Cindy) of Georgetown; a daughter, Anne C. Phillips (Martin) of Pawleys Island; four grandchildren who are so blessed to have had such a strong relationship with her, Jason Clemons (Melissa) of Pawleys Island, Millicent Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, Lee P. Otis (Thomas) of Charleston, and Anne P. Carter (Wes) of Murrells Inlet; and nine cherished great-grandchildren, Jackson and Hudson Clemons, Kennedy and Ella Grace Jordan, Evelyn and Alice Otis, and Sadie, Anna and Harriett Carter.
Memorial services will be at three o'clock on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David Marcy. Inurnment will be private.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Family Life Center of the Church.
