Andrews: Sadie Britt Powell, 93, widow of Willard Brooks Powell, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Friday, January 27, 2012, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown. Mrs. Powell was born in Andrews on July 28, 1918, a daughter of the late William Dozier Britt and Susan Tempie Howard Britt. She lived all her life in the Andrews area and was a member of the Family Worship Center. Mrs. Powell was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are: three sons, Rev. Murray W. Powell (Jean) of Andrews, Elwood Powell (Harriett), and Alfis Powell (Jackie), all of Andrews; four daughters, Dale P. Johnson (Lonnie) of Galivants Ferry, Norma P. Powell (Edwin) of Hemingway, Pate P. Taylor (Darious) of Pilot Mountain, N. C., and Stacey P. Pope (Ricky) of Georgetown; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be three o'clock Sunday afternoon, January 29, 2012, at the Family Worship Center.
