Andrews:
Sallie Altman Morris, 89, died Friday afternoon, March 19, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Morris was born on February 18, 1915 in the Suttons Community of Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late John Mack Altman and Elizabeth Theodosia Ward Altman. She graduated from Suttons High School as valedictorian and lived in the Oak Ridge community most of her life. Mrs. Morris was employed for thirty years with Oneita Industries, Inc. until her retirement. She was a Sunday school teacher at Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church for 28 years. Mrs. Morris was the widow of Leroy Marvin Morris.
Surviving are: two nephews, D. Michael Wilson of Bowling Green, Ky. and C. David McLean of Pawley's Island; three nieces, Dorothy W. Bridgers of Andrews, Betty W. Baker of Myrtle Beach, and Deborah M. Bruner of Columbia; six great-nephews; one great-niece; and six great-great-nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 21, 2004, at Oak Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Steve Wilson and The Rev. Henry Duncan, Jr. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 20, 2004, from six until eight o'clock at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
