Sally Jane Allen

Sally Jane Hill Allen, 83, of Bonneau, SC, passed away early Friday morning, August 28, 2026, at Roper St. Francis Downtown Hospital. She was born December 10, 1942, in Lowville, New York and was the beloved daughter of the late Marvin Kelsey Hill and Ora B. Plato Hill.

Sally grew up in Lowville, NY and graduated from General Martin Central School. She eventually relocated to the Macedonia Community of Berkeley County, SC and married her beloved husband, Ray Allen. Ray was a native New Yorker, and they were married on August 1, 1999, celebrating 30 years until Ray’s death in 2020.

Sally was retired from Reliable Electric in St. Stephen, SC but she also was Ray’s carpenter’s assistant in all his building and woodworking projects. Long before they became members of Mt. Calvary, they built a portable cabinet and donated it to the church. It is still being used today as is also many of their other endeavors throughout the community and surrounding area. Sally found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including cooking and sharing her love and care with family and friends.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church and an active member of the Prayer Team. She loved her pastor and her church family and nothing, except illness, would prevent her from being in church.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Berrus of Lowville, NY; her brother, Richard (Donna) Hill of Brantingham, NY; her sister-in-law, Mary Hill; many nieces and nephews who will deeply miss her; her very dear friend Snooky Parker, and her son in the faith, Pastor C. Jack Todd.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray; her sisters Margaret Hill Schmidt & Caroline Hill Burr, and her brothers James Hill, David Hill, and Marvin E. Hill.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026, in Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, directed by the Maryville Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook for the out-of-state family & friends.

In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Sally’s memory to Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3336 N. Hwy. 17-A, Bonneau, SC 29431.
