Andrews:
Samuel "Sammy" Joseph Mobley, Jr., 70, husband of Velma Brown Mobley, passed away June 27, 2019, at his residence in the Bloomingvale Community of Williamsburg County, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Mobley was born in Williamsburg County on May 5, 1949, a son of the late Samuel Joseph Mobley and Ella Vivian Smith Mobley. He grew up in the Bloomingvale Community of Williamsburg County and attended Kingstree High School. Mr. Mobley was the owner of Mobley Logging and retired six years ago due to health concerns. He raced horses in Florida and Kentucky and also helped establish the Kingstree Trials in Kingstree. He also had his own fox pens and did timed field trials. Mr. Mobley was a lifelong member of Bloomingvale Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mobley was predeceased by two sisters, Janella Ard and Tammy Mobley.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of Andrews are: three daughters, Sandy Tilton (Sambo), Melodie Bone (Chris), and Crystal Blake (Wylie), all of Andrews; three sisters, Dale Mobley and Wanda Blakley, both of Andrews and Alicia Ogle (Ron) of Surfside; two brothers, Danny Mobley and Randy Mobley, both of Andrews; nine grandchildren, Elek Tilton (Courtney), Kelda Thomas, Sammie Jo Tilton, C. J. Bone, Allie Blake, Joseph Blake, John David Bone, Noah Blake, and Lillie Blake; and four great-grandchildren, Lane Tilton, Sawyer Tilton, Colden Thomas and Ean Thomas.
Funeral Services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2019, in the Bloomingvale Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David Mullins and Rev. J. W. Casselman. Burial will follow the churchyard.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight o'clock at Bloomingvale Baptist Church
