Georgetown: Sandra Elizabeth "Betsy" Harsh Cottrell, 49, wife of Steven Lee Cottrell passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cottrell was born in Florence, SC on January 3, 1972, a daughter of David Cecil Harsh and Frances Jaillette Harsh. Betsy grew up in Georgetown, SC and graduated from Georgetown High School in 1990. She earned an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Florence Darlington Technical College in 1992. Betsy was a Registered Dental Hygienist at Drs. Joseph & Joseph, PA in Georgetown SC. She was previously employed at Dr. Bill Davis, DMD for over 30 years. Her children, Will and Katie, want everyone to remember that their mother lit up every room she ever walked into. She was the most selfless person, and never judged anyone. She would drop anything to help those who were in need. Her faith in God was truly incredible, and she would welcome anyone into her home She is survived by her husband Steven Lee Cottrell of 7 years; son Ronald William "Will" Murrell; daughter Julia Kathryn "Katie" Murrell; father David Cecil Harsh; mother Frances Jaillette Harsh; grandmother Dorothy O'Neil Leto of Baltimore, MD; sisters Julia Harsh Oberst and Kathryn Harsh Cunningham (Greg); aunt Rheta Jaillette Reeves of Florence, SC; nephews Michael David Oberst of New York, NY and Benjamin Forrest Cunningham of Myrtle Beach, SC; mother and father-in-law Marcus and Carol Miller of Pleasant Hill, OH; brother and sister-in-law Brent and Kelly Cottrell of Pleasant Hill, OH; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Brandy Cottrell; many nieces/nephews of Arcanum, OH; and godparents Laura and Ernest Meyer. Funeral Services will be three o'clock Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in the First Baptist Church of Georgetown. Burial will follow the service in Prince George Winyah Chuchyard. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in the church parlor from two until three o'clock.
