Mt. Pleasant: Sarah Ellen Bourne, 50, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Sandpiper Village after a long illness. Miss Bourne was born in Georgetown on July 7, 1967, a daughter of Betty Gunter Bourne and the late Carlton Russell Bourne, Sr. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and Coastal Carolina University with a BS degree in Psychology, Miss Bourne served as a volunteer for a number of organizations including the Georgetown City Police Department, Georgetown Memorial Hospital, and Morningside Assisted Living. She loved her family, friends, her animals, Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, and especially her women's circle of the United Methodist Women. Surviving in addition to her mother of Mt. Pleasant are: a brother, Charlie Bourne (Sheryl) of Mt. Pleasant; two nephews, Grayson and Parker Bourne, and a niece, Bethany Bourne. Memorial services will be eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017, at Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford. The family will receive friends from five until six-thirty o'clock on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home in Georgetown.
