Georgetown:
Sarah Ellen Morris Cannon, 83, widow of Manuel Aaron Cannon, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Cannon was born in Williamsburg Co. on September 25, 1927, a daughter of the late Rufus Benjamin Morris and Gladys Lawson Morris. She grew up in the Piney Forest community of Williamsburg Co. and graduated from Williamsburg High School. Mrs. Cannon lived in Georgetown for over 60 years and was a former member of Maryville Garden Club and The Woodmen of the World. She was a charter member of Friendfield Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are: three daughters, Elaine Seibert (Tom) of Plano, Tex., Faye Johnson (Larry) of St. Mary, Ga., and Janice Harrelson (Roger) of Georgetown; a son, Mark Cannon (Terri) of Rock Hill; a brother, Gordon "Buddy" Morris (Joan) of Andrews; four sisters, Maggie Barrineau and Gail White, both of Andrews, Tiny Murray of North, and Ann Mobley of Nesmith; nine grandchildren, Walter Seibert, Ashley Villalobos, Scott Johnson, Owen Johnson, Jessica Phillips, Jonathan Harrelson, T. D. Sutton, Robin Cannon, and Katherine Cannon; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cannon was predeceased by: two brothers, R. B. Morris, Jr. and Billy Morris.
Graveside services will be at three o'clock on Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2011, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Moore, a lifetime friend of the family.
