Georgetown:
Sarah Ruth Oldham Morgan, 92, died Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Morgan was born in Athens, Georgia on December 24, 1911, a daughter of the late Kingsley Allen Oldham and Julia Mae Couch Oldham. She was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Morgan was a former Sunday School teacher and past president of the Women's Missionary Society. She was a member of the Order of the Easter Star and a founder of the Hanahan Women's Auxiliary of the Fire Dept. Mrs. Morgan was also an American Cancer Society Volunteer and a former Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Surviving are: her husband, Henry M. Morgan of Georgetown; three sons, Bobby C. Franks and Jerry L. Franks, both of Cottageville, and George A. Morgan of Manassas, Va. two daughters, Anna Lundy Franks Stein of Sumter and Julia M. Avant of Georgetown; a sister, Frances Tyler of Greenwood; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be four o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 18, 2004 at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Leonhardt. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church sanctuary Monday evening, May 17, 2004, from seven until nine o'clock.
