Pawleys Island:
Sharon Walker Maher, 71, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Maher was born in Somers Point, N. J. on June 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Clinton Payne Walker and Elizabeth Shore Powell Walker. She grew up in Ocean City, N. J. and was a graduate of Ocean City High School. Mrs. Maher lived in Alexandria, Va. for forty-five years and moved to Pawleys Island several years ago. She was a realtor with the Georgetown Agency and a volunteer with Tidelands Community Hospice, Inc. Mrs. Maher was a member of Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church.
Surviving are: three sons, Michael Maher (Toni) of Harrisonburg, Va., Robbie Maher (Pam) of Alexandria, Va., and Mark Maher (Taryn) of Boca Raton, Fla.; three daughters, Melodie Maher (Sandy) of Harrisonburg, Va., Meredith Henwood (Tom) of Owings, Md., and Monet Paterson (Ray) of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Clinton P. Walker, Jr. (Ginny) of Lakeland, Fla.; seventeen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be eleven o'clock Saturday morning, March 6, 2010, at Precious Blood of Christ Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Jim Gerrety.
