Georgetown:
Sheldon Herman Gershman, 95, widower of Beatrice "Bea" Berest Gershman, died September 11, 2017, at the Lakes at Litchfield at Pawleys Island.
Mr. Gershman was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 29, 1922, a son of the late Harry Gershman and Tillie Drucker Gershman. He served in World War II. Mr. Gershan was a founder of El Al Airline in Israel and a retired Aviation Executive. Mr. Gershman was a member of Temple Beth Elohim, where he served on the Temple Board. He was a former member of the Rotary Club in Andrews.
Surviving are: two daughters, Elyse Berger of Queens and Michele Gershman-Bennet (James) of Queens, NY and Georgetown; and a grandson, Alex Berger of Chicago, IL.
Memorial services will be held at two o'clock on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Temple Beth Elohim. Burial will follow in Temple Beth Elohim Cemetery.
