Andrews: Shirley Diane Bowden Burgan, 70, widow of Walter C. Johnson, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at Williamsburg Regional Hospital in Kingstree. Mrs. Burgan was born in San Jose, Calif. on February 23, 1946, a daughter of the late Leonard and Ruby Martin Bowden. She grew up in San Jose and was a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Bowden worked at a number of nursing homes in the area including Prince George Healthcare Center in Georgetown. Surviving are: a daughter, Julie Johnson of Andrews; two sons, Walter Johnson Jr. (Mona) of Andrews and Jake Johnson of San Jose, Calif.; two sisters, Linda Shehan and Rose Campbell (Vern); two brothers, Kenny Bowden and Larry Bowden (Diane); five grandchildren, Brandy Johnson, Christy Anshutz (Tyler), Ashlee Powell (Kevin), Wally Johnson, and Joshua Johnson; and a great-grandson, Zackary Anshutz.
