Georgetown,
Shirley Eleanor Kretschman Purple, 75, widow of Judge Donald G. Purple, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Purple was born Blossburg, Pa. on August 26, 1939, a daughter of the late George Washington Kretschman and Eleanor Checkray Kretschman. She grew up in Elmira, N.Y., graduated from Mary A. Burnham Finishing School, and received a Bachelor's Degree from Elmira College. After her marriage, the family resided in Corning, N.Y. prior to moving to Georgetown. Mrs. Purple was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church and a prior member of Corning Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed interior decorating and as young women, Mrs. Purple loved volunteering for many different organizations.
Surviving are; a son, Collin Ivan Purple of San Diego, Calif. two daughters; Beverly Purple of Roswell, Ga. and Courtney P. Muldbakken of Temecula, Calif. six grandchildren; Stone Yancey, Alexis Neely, Kyle, Kendra, and Owen Muldbakken and Ariana Purple.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Purple was predeceased by: a son, Donald Gregor "Greg" Purple, Jr.
Memorial services will be eleven o'clock Monday, October 12, 2015, at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Wilkins.
