Andrews:
Spivey Charlie Cooper, 88, widower of Mary Faye Clemons Cooper, died Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Tidelands Community Hospice House in Georgetown.
Mr. Cooper was born in Georgetown on November 12, 1923, a son of the late Sam Cooper and Susan Elizabeth Hanna Cooper. He grew up in the Sampit community of Georgetown Co. and graduated from Andrews High School. Mr. Cooper served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired employee of TransTechnology Corp. He was a life-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served his church in many positions, including Superintendent of the Sunday School.
Surviving are: two daughters, Deborah Cooper Watford and Pamela Cooper Brett, both of Andrews; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cooper was predeceased by his son, Gregory S. Cooper.
Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, January 24, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David Marcy. Burial will follow at Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
