Obituary

Georgetown: Theda Prechter Hazzard, 87, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Hazzard was born in New Orleans, La. on January 31, 1919, the daughter of the late August Clarence Prechter and Alma Desforges Prechter. She grew up in New Orleans and was a longtime Georgetown resident. Mrs. Hazzard was a communicant of Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. She was a former volunteer for the American Cancer Society Outreach Program and a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Surviving are: her husband, James Daughtridge Hazzard of Georgetown; a son, James Daughtridge Hazzard, Jr. and his wife Delores of Frankfort, Ind.; two daughters, Delma Theda Hazzard of Camden and Alice Fraser Hazzard of Pawleys Island; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth Miles Hazzard Rego, James Daughtridge Hazzard, III, Jessica Hazzard Jones, Anna Martin Jones, and Oren Fraser Jones. Funeral services will be three o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 12, 2005, at Prince George, Winyah, Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Paul C. Fuener and The Rt. Rev. C.
