Georgetown:
Theresa "Teri" Altman Benton, 37, died Friday, February 23, 2007, at her residence.
Mrs. Benton was born at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, Calif., on August 4, 1969, a daughter of Laurice "Lorry" G. Altman, Jr. and Faye Warren Altman. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and Coastal Carolina University. Mrs. Benton was a former teacher at Maryville Elementary School, Wadley Community School in Texarkana, Tex., and Sixth Street Elementary School, also in Texarkana. She was currently a kindergarten teacher at D. P. Cooper Elementary School in the Williamsburg Co. School District, where she was Teacher of the Year in 2006. Mrs. Benton was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship.
Mrs. Benton was predeceased by: her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howell Warren; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurice G. Altman, Sr.
Surviving in addition to her parents of Georgetown are: her husband, Joseph R. Benton of Georgetown; a sister, Lauren Altman of Pawleys Island; and her Godparents, John and Frances Howard of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be eleven o'clock, Monday morning, February 26, 2007, at Victory Christian Fellowship. Officiating will be Pastor Leroy A. Judd, Jr., the Rev. Ronald J. Farrell, and Pastor Rod Reid. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home on Sunday evening, February 25, 2007, from six until eight.
