Andrews:
Thomas Theron Cox, Sr., 85, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Cox was born in Earle's community of Williamsburg Co. near Andrews on July 6, 1922, a son of the late Thomas Alton Cox, Sr. and Mary Effie Wheeler Cox. He attended Williamsburg High School. Mr. Cox was a retired employee of Seaboard Coastline Railroad. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the widower of Elizabeth Watford Cox.
Mr. Cox was predeceased by: two brothers, Horace Cox and J. C. Cox; and three sisters, Jeanette Evans, Hilda Showell, and Lavere Gorman.
Surviving are: a son, Thomas T. "Tommy" Cox Jr. and his wife Wanda of Andrews; two daughters, Penny C. McCants and her husband Charlie of Lexington and Ellen C. Dail and her husband Donny of Andrews; two brothers, Alton Cox, Jr. and Carlisle Cox, both of Andrews; a sister, Winifred Register of Columbia; five grandchildren; Nickie Hutto, Rhett Cox, Kyle McCants, Bevin Dail, and Kirk McCants; and three great-grandchildren, Sully Hutto, Sims Hutto, and Banks Hutto.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Sandra Stevens Poirel and the Rev. Billy Miles. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery.
