Georgetown:
Thomas David Langston, 82, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 in Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Langston was born in Florence Co. on October 11, 1925, a son of the late George W. Langston and Ura McKenzie Langston. He served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Langston retired in 1991 from International Paper Co. and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
Mr. Langston was a member of First Baptist Church and served his church as a Deacon and past President of the Brotherhood. He was a member of the Eastern Star and Winyah Lodge #40, Ancient FreeMasons, where he served as Master for two terms. Mr. Langston was also a member of Battery White Camp #1568, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and was a past Chaplain of the camp.
Surviving are: his wife, Eunice Johnston Langston of Georgetown; two sons, Thomas D. Langston, Jr. and his wife Elaine and G. Kevin Langston and his wife Karis, both of Georgetown; two daughters, Janet L. Smith and her husband Jimmy Joe of Georgetown and Nancy L. Rowell and her husband Tracy of Pawleys Island; four sisters, Edith L. Johnson of Greenville, Lucy L. Enter and Odell L. Lambert, both of Sumter, and Joy L. Duke of Kingstree; and nine grandchildren; Joseph L. Smith, Kristen J. Smith, Gregory M. Smith, Hunter W. Smith, T. Daniel Langston, T. David Langston, III, and Robert J. Ward, III, all of Georgetown, and Seth M. Rowell and Elizabeth J. Rowell, both of Pawleys Island.
Funeral services will be at eleven o'clock Friday morning, May 30, 2008, at First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Ted A. Sherrill and Rev. Keith Wall. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
