Columbia:
Thomas Carl "Tommy" Lawrence, 83, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at National Health Care (NHC) in Columbia.
Mr. Lawrence was born in Hamlet, N. C. on March 20, 1922, a son of the late Thomas C. Lawrence and Myrtle Yarborough Lawrence. He graduated from Hamlet High School in 1940 and was employed by the CSX Railroad for 42 years. He attended Purdue University and Anacosta University while serving in the Navy in World War II. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Andrews for the past 53 years.
Surviving are: his widow, Lou Eva Watson Lawrence of Columbia; two daughters, Lou Ellen Watson and her husband Ed and Elizabeth "Beth" Brabham and her husband Lamar, all of Columbia; and three grandchildren, Mary Beth Watson, Ellen Riley Watson, and Scott Manning Brabham.
Funeral services will be at the graveside at Andrews Memorial Cemetery in Andrews at 11:00 am on Friday, May 27, 2005. Officiating will be Rev. Luther H. Rickenbaker, III.
