Georgetown Thomas "Avery" Love, 71, died Thursday, August 10, 2017, at MUSC Medical Center in Charleston. Mr. Love was born in Albemarle, N.C. on May 10, 1946, a son of the late Carl Avery Love and Lucine Newsom Love. He grew up in Stanfield, N.C. and was a graduate of West Stanley High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Love lived in Georgetown for over forty years and retired as manager of Low County Discount Center. He was also the owner of Private Jewelry Repair. Mr. Love was a member of Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men and served the church as a Church School Teacher. He was a devoted husband, father, and "Papa". In addition to his parents, Mr. Love was predeceased by: his wife, Patricia Ann Collins Love; and a sister, Rowena Brooks. Surviving are: five daughters, Kim Cooper (Ronald Jordan), Brandy Windham (Cecil) and Kristina Morris (Richard), all of Georgetown, and Celeste James and Kelly Thorvalson (Mike), both of Charleston; a son, Jason Love of N.C.; a sister, Judy Talley (Wink) of Stanfield, N.C.; a brother-in-law, R. W. Brooks, of Stanfield, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Memorial services will be three o'clock Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2017, at Herbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Scott Gilmer. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday in the church Fellowship Hall from two until three.
