Georgetown: Thomas "Tom" McGilbert Wynn, Sr., widower of Jackie Lanell Creel Wynn, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 24, 2022. A native of Georgetown, Tom grew up on Pennsylvania Avenue and was a graduate of Winyah High School. He worked for 38 years at International Paper Company before retiring. He was proud and honored to have served in both the United States Navy and the Naval Reserve. Tom was a sweet, gentle-natured person who loved to laugh, spend time with his family and enjoy life. He lived by his motto, "Don't sweat the small stuff!" Everyone who knew him, loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florrie Mae Wynn of Georgetown, SC.; his wife Jackie Lanell Creel Wynn; his siblings: Thurman Wynn (Elaine), Ben Wynn (Sis), Nina (Wynn) Petty (James), Annette (Wynn) Robertson, and Addie Jeanette Wynn. He will be greatly missed by his children, Crystal (Wynn) Franklin, Tommy Wynn (Lisa) and Felicia (Wynn) Cash (Tom); his grandchildren, Westley Furlong (Charla), Caleb Franklin, Kaitlyn Cash, Caroline Cash and Thomas Cash; and his great-grandchildren, Fischer Furlong and Noah Avery Furlong. He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Extra special thanks to his wonderful and loving caregiver, Taneisha "Cookie" Cobb; also Laura Wallace and Vivian Bush, also a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 1:00PM at Victory Christian Fellowship Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
