Thomas "Tommy" Whitfield Morris, Jr., 68, husband of Mary Dell Camlin Morris, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the Medical University of S. C. Medical Center in Charleston.
Mr. Morris was born on July 12, 1949, a son of the late Thomas Whitfield Morris, Sr. and Sudie Mae Howard Morris and grew up in the Warsaw Community near Andrews. He graduated from Williamsburg High School and attended Midlands Technical College. Tommy and Mary Dell were married June 8, 1974. He worked as a general contractor and was the sole proprietor of T. Morris Construction Company. Tommy was a master craftsman and an avid outdoorsman. He loved cooking, golf, and Clemson football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was predeceased by a sister, Linda Morris Smith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of Georgetown, are; a son, Dr. Thomas Whitfield "Whit" Morris, III (Allison) of Little Rock, AR; a daughter, Brooke Morris Marion (Frankie) of Columbia; two brothers, Kenneth "Chris" Morris (Helen) and Randall "Randy" Morris, both of Andrews; brother-in-law, Arthur Smith of Andrews; grandchildren, Frankie and Gabriel Marion and Whit Morris, IV, Samuel, and Evelyn Rose.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at four o'clock in the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends in the Church Parlor prior to the funeral service beginning at three o'clock.
