Murrells Inlet: Thomas "Tommy" Harold Pendergrass, 67, husband of Susan Peeler Pendergrass passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at his residence. Mr. Pendergrass was born in Florence on May 23, 1950, a son of the late Archie Clarence Pendergrass and Mary Elizabeth Bunch Pendergrass. He grew up in Florence and moved to Garden City in 1965. He graduated from Socastee High School and attained a degree in Business Administration from Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Tommy was always a leader even during Boy Scouts where he was an Eagle Scout. Mr. Pendergrass was a member of Pendergrass Realty for over 35 years and served on the State and Local Realtors Board of SC, and was awarded the Realtor Image Award. Mr. Pendergrass had a great knowledge of the Real Estate business by all evidence of his vast number of clients who trusted him and considered him a friend. He was employed by Dunes Realty of Garden City. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Murrells Inlet and a charter member of Grand Strand Community Church. Surviving are: his wife of Murrells Inlet; a daughter, Leigh Hennecy (Chip) of Aynor; two granddaughters, Summer Brooke Clark of Myrtle Beach and Spring Bailey Clark of Aynor; a grandson, Timothy Davis Clark, II of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Lynda P. Wilson (Michael) and Joyce P. Hastings both of Murrells Inlet, and a sister-in-law, Shirley B. Pendergrass of Garden City. Mr. Pendergrass is predeceased by his parents and a brother, James A. Pendergrass. Memorial Services will be eleven o'clock, Saturday morning, January 20, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Murrells Inlet. Officiating will be the Rev. Kendall Williams.
