Timothy Mark "Tim" Barton, 59, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Garden City. He was a son of the late Dr. Thomas James Barton and Marilyn Frances (Russell) Barton.

Born and raised in Middletown, Ohio, Tim was a talented artist and avid drummer with a passion for music. He regularly played music with local bands until his professional dreams to play and tour with some of the most talented and recognizable Blues musicians were realized. After many years following those dreams, Tim returned to his hometown where his artistic abilities continued with music by night and painting homes by day. Seeking a change, he eventually moved to South Carolina where he would start a painting business, build many friendships, and leave his mark throughout his community. Tim was known for his charisma, his humor, and living life on his own terms. His memory lives on in our hearts.

He is survived by two brothers, Thomas J. Barton, Jr. (Elaine) and Stephen E. Barton (Teresa), and one sister, Cynthia L. Briggs (Todd). He is also survived by three nephews, three nieces, four great nephews, and one great niece.

A private family ceremony was held at Woodside Cemetery in his Hometown where he was peacefully laid to rest.

The Downtown Chapel of Mayer-Ethridge Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the arrangements.
