Andrews:
Timothy "Tim" Ellie Moore, Sr., 77, husband of Mary Lou Clemons Moore, died yesterday October 24, 2020, at MUSC Florence Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was born in the Earle Community of Williamsburg County on September 5, 1943, a son of the late John Decatur Moore, Sr. and Goldie Helen Wheeler Moore.
Tim graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1961 and attended Wingate Junior College in North Carolina. He then graduated from Erskine College in 1965 with a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education. He married his high school sweetheart and lifelong love of 55 years. Tim and Mary Lou's marriage was blessed with four children and seven grandchildren.
Tim's 38 years of teaching and coaching began at Greeleyville High School. From there, he taught and coached at Hemingway High School, Thomas Sumter Academy (where he started their first Football team,) Robert E. Lee Academy, Williamsburg Academy, Williamsburg High School, and finished his last 18 years of teaching and coaching at Andrews High School.
Tim, known as Coach or Coach Moore, coached many sports throughout his career from Football, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, and Track. He was also an Athletic Director for many years. Coach Moore led the 1976 AAA Robert E. Lee Football team to their first and only State Championship. Coach, also, led his Andrews High School Softball team to multiple Lower State Championships.
Tim loved working with his hands and was known for making beautiful woodwork. There was nothing that he couldn't build or fix and loved to share his work with others. He and his wife were co-owners of T & M Framing for many years during the 80s and 90s. He was currently the co-owner of Palmetto Screens Laundry & Carwash in Andrews.
Although Tim loved teaching and coaching, his biggest treasure in life was his family. He loved his wife and children so much and was so proud to call them his. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. His siblings, nieces, and nephews held a true special place in his heart. As much as he loved all of his family, his greatest joy were his grandchildren and being so active in their lives.
Tim was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and is now enjoying his Heavenly Home.
