Georgetown:
Tom "Tucker" Tompkins, 67, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Tompkins was born, December 30, 1947, in Georgetown, a son of the late Sam Albert Tompkins and Lila Lee Goude Tompkins. He grew in Georgetown and served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Tompkins was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal. He was a self-employed brick mason and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tompkins was predeceased by: two brothers, David Wayne Tompkins and Albert Otis Tompkins.
Surviving are: a son, Michael Tompkins (Emma Lawrimore) of Georgetown; a daughter, Tracy D. Mau (Chris) of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Jon Phillip "Trey" Cooper III, Christopher Mason Mau, Hunter Lucas Mau, Emmit Luke Tompkins, and Lila Marie Tompkins; and four sisters, Louise Jordan and Phyllis Ann Tompkins, both of Georgetown, Rose Clark of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Faye Koon of Rockledge, Fla.; a number of nieces and nephews; and dear friend and caretaker, Michael Feagin of Georgetown.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
