Obituary

Georgetown: Travis Jackson Dunahoe, 83, widower of Myrtle Lee Jacobs Dunahoe, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dunahoe was born in Johnsonville on July 1, 1937, a son of the late Jack Charlton Dunahoe and Lorain Dennis Dunahoe. Mr. Dunahoe grew up in the Johnsonville area and graduated Johnsonville High School After graduation he joined the US Navy. Travis and Myrtle moved to Pawleys Island where they lived the majority of their marriage. While living in Pawleys he became a great lover of the golf game and did golf course maintenance, which gave him the opportunity to watch and enjoy the sport. He was a very spiritual and loving person. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Dunahoe was predeceased by: two sisters, Nancy D. Morris and Sandra V. Dunahoe. Surviving are: a son, Luther C. Sikes, Jr. of North Charleston; a daughter, Patty Sikes Avant (Bob) of Georgetown; a sister, Jackie Darnall (Wade) of Topeka, KS; three grandsons, Jamie Avant (Gigi), Shane Avant (Keri) and Clay Sikes (Mindi) all of Georgetown; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Luke and Brooke Avant and Maisyn Sikes; and a number of nieces and nephews.; Private graveside services will be three o'clock Friday, July 24, 2020, at Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
