Georgetown: Vera Johnson Jeter, 97, widow of David Gilliam Jeter died Sunday, December 24 in Georgetown. Mrs. Jeter was born in Wagener, the daughter of George and Essie Johnson. She was a graduate of Winthrop College. Mrs. Jeter was a former resident of Columbia, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by: a son, David G. Jeter of Silver Springs, Maryland; a daughter, Essie J. Blalock of Georgetown; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jeter was predeceased by: grandsons, George R. Blalock III and David J. Blalock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 Wednesday, December 27, at the graveside in All Saints Church Cemetery at Pawleys Island. Officiating will be the Rt. Rev.
