Vera Cumbee Mack, 90, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at her residence in the Plantersville community of Georgetown Co.
Mrs. Mack was born in Brunswick, Ga. on June 26, 1918, a daughter of the late William Christopher Cumbee and Isabelle Roberson Cumbee. In addition to being a former school teacher, she was a long-time tax preparer and bookkeeper for a number of local businesses. Mrs. Mack was an accomplished seamstress and cook and was devoted not only to her family, but to the numerous animals that she adopted. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church and the widow of Louis W. Mack, Sr.
Surviving are: two sons, William S. "Steve" (Marie) Mack of Summerville and Louis W. Mack, Jr. of Georgetown; a daughter, Linda G. (John) Riney of Cross; seven grandchildren, Mari Allyson Morgan of Myrtle Beach, Michelle Thompson and Cynthia Mack, both of Charlotte, N. C., Tiffany Apperson of Philadelphia, Pa., John Riney, Jr. of Cross, Louis W. Mack, III of Fla., and Jamie Mack of Conway; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Brittany Lamberson of Georgetown and Micah Mack of Charlotte, N. C.
Graveside funeral services will be eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, November 25, 2008, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald W. Ward.
