Georgetown:
Victoria S. Griffith, 60, formerly of Bloomingrose, West Virginia passed into her eternal rest Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Tidelands Community Hospice House, in Georgetown after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. A memorial service will be held at the Georgetown Church of Christ, in front of Kensington Elementary on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 7:00PM.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Griffith will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Sherman Elementary School Gym in Comfort, West Virginia. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM prior to the service. Officiating will be Minister Fred Ady of the Georgetown Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, West Virginia.
She was a member of the Georgetown Church of Christ. Vikki loved and educated children for 32 years in Boone County, West Virginia and retired as a Curriculum Specialist after 6 years with the Georgetown County School District. All who knew her loved her! Mrs. Griffith was honored as Boone County "Teacher of the Year" twice during her distinguished career. She and her husband were once named "Foster Parents of the Year" for the state of West Virginia. Children truly were her life!
Mrs. Griffith was predeceased by her father, Johnny Poore. Surviving are her husband, Barry Griffith; two sons, Captain Aaron Williams, USAF, (Victoria) stationed in Cheyenne, WY, presently deployed to Saudi Arabia, Jeffery Griffith (Andrea) of Fairborn, OH; two daughters, Ami Williams Schon of Morgantown, WV, and Carrie Griffith Reeves (David) of Bloomingrose, WV; Mother, Beulah Poore of Racine, WV; Brother, Scott Poore (Laura) of South Charleston, WV; Sister, Cathy Hale (Fred) of Racine, WV.; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
