Obituary

Georgetown: Virgie Weaver Britt, 72, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Britt was born in Lake City on May 13, 1934, a daughter of the late Troy Clifton Weaver, Sr. and Ella Ira Ammons Weaver. She lived in Georgetown most of her life, where she and her late husband, Thomas James Britt, were co-owners of Britt's Furniture and Appliance Store. Mrs. Britt attended North Hampton Baptist Church. Mrs. Britt was predeceased by her husband and four children. Surviving are: three sons, Thomas J. "Jimmy" Britt, Jr., Jerry Britt, and Billy Weaver, all of Georgetown; three daughters, Terrie B. Moody, Tonya B. Thompson, and Angela B. Geer, all of Georgetown; three brothers, Vince Weaver of Georgetown, Beverly J. Weaver of N. Charleston, and O'Neal Weaver of Hampton, Va.; a sister, Hazel W. Morris of Charleston; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be three o'clock Thursday afternoon, March 15, 2007, at North Hampton Baptist Church.
