Hemingway:
Virginia Pearson Bryant, 86, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at the residence of her son in the Cedar Creek section of Williamsburg Co. near Andrews.
Mrs. Bryant was born in Picayune, Miss. on December 16, 1917, a daughter of the late Christopher Colen Pearson and Emeline Bilbo Pearson. She grew up in Picayune and attended school there. Mrs. Bryant lived in Conway and Andrews prior to moving to Hemingway in 1970. She was a sewing machine operator with Oneita Industries in Andrews until her retirement in 1985. Mrs. Bryant attended Gourdine's Chapel and was the widow of Elder Selabor Bryant.
Surviving are: three sons, Cornelious Eugene Mitchell and Allyn Colen Bryant, both of Hemingway, and Stoney Ledell Bryant of Andrews; two brothers, Sheldon Pearson and Claudell Pearson, both of Picayune, Miss.; two sisters, Jean Garcia of Columbia, Miss. and Ida May Dillard of Picayune, Miss.; twenty grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Friday afternoon at Gourdine's Chapel near Andrews. Officiating will be the Rev. Themos Cribb and the Rev. Laurie McAlpine. Burial will follow in the Churchyard.
