Pawley's Island: Virginia Counts Smith, 84, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the Lakes at Litchfield. Mrs. Smith was born in Beckley, W. Va. on October 13, 1920, the daughter of the late John Counts and Lake Erie Prince Counts. She grew up in Beckley and graduated from Beckley College. Mrs. Smith moved to Georgetown Co. in 1986 from Beckley. She was a member of Pawley's Island Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Smith was the widow of Kenley Woodrow "Pete" Smith. Surviving is: a son, Kenley S. Smith of Bent Mountain, Va. Funeral services will be three o'clock Tuesday afternoon, May 31, 2005, at Pawley's Island Presbyterian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Frank S. Holsclaw. Entombment will be two o'clock Friday afternoon, June 3, 2005, in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley, W. Va. Sign a guest book at www.mayerfuneralhome.com.
