Summerville: Virginia Morrison Whitener, 90, widow of Cmdr. Miles Sinclair Whitener, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Summerville Medical Center. Mrs. Whitener was born in Chester on August 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Robert Gaston Morrison and Virginia Miller Morrison. She was a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, N. C. and earned a Master Degree from Columbia University in N. Y. City. Mrs. Whitener was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. She moved to Georgetown in 1975 and to the Presbyterian Home of S. C. in Summerville three years ago. Mrs. Whitener was predeceased by: a daughter, Virginia D. Whitener; and a son, Robert H. Whitener. Surviving are: a son, Andrew H. Whitener of Georgetown. Funeral services will be ten o'clock Tuesday morning, July 26, 2011 at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery Annex in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. William H.
