Andrews: Wade Alonzo Carter, Jr., 60, died Friday, October 12, 2012, at Roper Hospital in Charleston. Mr. Carter was born in Gastonia, N.C. on August 13, 1952, a son of the late Wade Alonzo Carter, Sr. and Emo Irene Austin Carter. He grew up in Gastonia and graduated from South Point High School. Mr. Carter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and was an employee of the S.C. Dept. of Social Services. He was an avid Gamecock fan and a member of the Georgetown County Gamecock Club. Surviving are: his wife, Ann Watts Carter of Andrews; a daughter, Meredith Carter of Rock Hill; a sister, Irene Hull (Kermit) of Gastonia; and a brother, Miles Carter of Belmont, N.C. Funeral services will be at three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, October 14, 2012, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
