Georgetown:
Wadene "Penny" Plummer Shaw, 89, widow of Pressley E. Shaw, died Saturday, October 5, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Shaw was born in Sioux City, Iowa on June 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry Earl Plummer and Beulah Jeannette Rummel Plummer, and graduated from high school there. She then moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Pentagon. After her marriage in 1944, Mrs. Shaw moved to Georgetown to live. She was a retired employee of the Woodlands Division of International Paper Company. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Church School Class.
Surviving are: a son, John E. Shaw (Thomasina) of Georgetown; a daughter, Susan S. Peterson (Keith) of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Tina M. Shaw of Little River and Gideon M. Perritt of Georgetown; and a sister, Patricia Farnham of Iowa.
Funeral services will be two o'clock Monday afternoon, October 7, 203, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Dora Gafford. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
