Andrews:
Walker Davis "W.D." Morris, Jr., 83, widower of Louise Heath Morris, passed away with his family at his side on Friday, January 16, 2015.
Mr. Morris was born in Andrews on July 16, 1931, a son of the late Walker Davis Morris and Latisher Coker Morris. He grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School. Mr. Morris retired from United Insurance Company and from the Andrews Post Office, where he worked as a part-time rural mail carrier. He loved farming and raising cows. Mr. Morris was a member of Elim United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: his fiancé, Jackie Harrelson of Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Patricia Morris Benton (Glenn) of Kingstree; a son, Walker Cleveland Morris of Andrews; five grandchildren, Louise Benton and Jessie Benton (fiancé Bradley Cribb), both of Kingstree, Meaghan Morris Shires (Bill) of Hawaii, and Davis Morris and Dylan Morris, both of Pawleys Island; two sisters, Juanita Allen of Florence and Betty Wilson of Farmville, NC; a sister-in-law, Lila Heath Lanier of Aiken; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Morris was predeceased by a brother, Charlie B. Morris.
Funeral services will be held at three o'clock on Monday afternoon, January 19, 2015, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Jay Johnson. Burial will follow at Elim United Methodist Churchyard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, January 18, 2015, at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home from three until five o'clock.
