Georgetown: Warren Dibble Evans, 79, died November 7, 2003, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Evans was born in Sumter on November 24, 1923, a son of the late John Linwood Evans and Mildred "Nan" Boone Evans. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Evans retired from the S. C. Department of Transportation. Surviving are: his wife, Nina Rearden Evans of Georgetown; a daughter, Nancy Evans Fear of Plantation, Fla.; a son, Warren D. Evans, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Charles G. Evans and John Marion Evans, both of Sumter; three sisters, Mae Cummings and Mildred "Wee" Commins, both of Sumter, and Lolly Thorne of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Graveside memorial services will be Monday, November 10, 2003, at two thirty o'clock at Old Sumter Cemetery in Sumter. The family will receive friends at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home Monday morning, November 10, 2003, from ten until eleven o'clock.
