Summerville: Wayne Anthony "Tony" Teel, 66, husband of Janet Adair Teel, died Tuesday December 31, 2019, at his residence. Mr. Teel was born September 4, 1953, in Georgetown, a son of the late James Elbert Teel and Dorothy Frances Owens Teel. Mr. Teel grew up in Georgetown and graduated from Winyah High School. He received and associated degree in Golf Course Management from Horry-Georgetown Technical College. Mr. Teel worked for International Paper Company in Georgetown Duke Power in Rock Hill for a number of years. He retired from Georgetown County. Tony was an avid golfer and was very proud that he achieved a hole in one. Tony and Janet were married for forty-three years. Mr. Teel was a member at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, Mr. Teel was predeceased by: a daughter, Meagan A. Teel; a son, Joseph A. Teel; two brothers, Joseph L. Teel and James E. Teel; and a sister, Ferol T. Matthews. Surviving are: his wife of Summerville; a daughter, Jenny Teel Sekely (Kristopher) of Summerville; three grandchildren, Joseph A. Teel, Jr, Atolie M. and Lily Sekely; a sister, Pam Cameron (Skinny) of Andrews; and a brother, Pat Teel of Georgetown. A Funeral Mass will be two o'clock Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at St. Mary Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church in Georgetown. Officiating will be the Rev. Father Richard C. Wilson. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday in the Church Parish Hall from one until two o'clock.
