Georgetown: W. S. "Sandy" Ragin died June 1, 2012, at his home. Mr. Ragin was born in Rock Hill on December 8, 1941, a son of the late John James and Naomi Sandel Ragin. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Louisa Ragin Craig Dills. Mr. Ragin was a member of Georgetown Presbyterian Church. After graduating from Rock Hill High School in 1960, Mr. Ragin attended Clemson University and majored in Forestry. He worked as a procurement forester for several companies before starting his own business, Ragin Wood Products. Mr. Ragin retired in December, 2010. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Sandy is survived by: his wife, Judith Walters Ragin of Georgetown; two sons, Wesley "Wes" Sandel Ragin, Jr. and Jeffrey "Jeff" Keith Ragin, both of Garden City Beach; a grandson, Wesley "Trip" Sandel Ragin, III of Garden City Beach; a brother, John James Ragin (Glenda) of York; and a sister, Victoria Ragin Shelton of Alabama. Graveside services will be held at two o'clock on Monday, June 4, 2012, at Pawleys Island Presbyterian Churchyard. A memorial service will follow at three o'clock at Georgetown Presbyterian Church.
