Georgetown: Willard "Billy" Edelle Jacobs, Jr., 70, died Thursday, November 24, 2016, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Jacobs was born in Georgetown on October 8, 1946, a son of the late Willard Edelle Jacobs, Sr. and Lena Belle Sarvis Jacobs. He grew up in Georgetown and was a graduate of Georgetown High School. He was a member of First Assembly of God, was a church Greeter for several years, and was very active with the church food bank. Mr. Jacobs was an avid hunter and fisherman and belonged to many hunting clubs. He was also a certified scuba diver. He had a huge love of animals, especially horses. He helped build Georgetown Steel and worked there for forty-three years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jacobs was predeceased by: a sister, Barbara Grant. Surviving are: his high school sweetheart and wife of fifty-two years, Norma Lee Cribb Jacobs of Georgetown; two daughters, Debbie James (Randy) of Andrews and Shannon Hendrickson (Matt) of Riegelwood, N.C.; a brother, James Jacobs (Cookie) of Georgetown: a number of nieces and nephews; a very special god son, James D'Atanagac (Anna) and their daughter Bella; lots of beloved "Grand" animals; and his favorite of all "B. J." the horse. Funeral services will be two o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2016, at First Assembly of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Johnny Poston and the Rev. Dave Hoskins. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, November 26, 2016, at First Assembly of God from six until eight.
